Rural communities to benefit from the Pan in Communities programme.

On Wednesday the Ministry of Community Development, Culture & Gender Affairs launched a programme to take place in rural communities across T&T. The programme - Pan in the Communities - takes the form of a series of steel-band concerts and will be held on weekends featuring steel-bands from different regions including high-profile steel orchestras.

Patrick Arnold has said the initiative is important to introduce steel-pan throughout the entire country. Top Steel-bands will lead off the series at the Skiffle Bunch Pan Theatre tomorrow from 9pm. Bands have also been asked to include a Michael Jackson tune, in tribute of the late King of Pop.
