Patrick Arnold has said the initiative is important to introduce steel-pan throughout the entire country. Top Steel-bands will lead off the series at the Skiffle Bunch Pan Theatre tomorrow from 9pm. Bands have also been asked to include a Michael Jackson tune, in tribute of the late King of Pop.

Rural communities in Trinidad and Tobago will have the opportunity to see live steelband performances in a new event called the Pan in the Communities Programme. The programme, which takes the form of a series of steelband concerts in communities across the country, was launched at the Ministry of Community Development, Culture and Gender Affairs offices in St Ann's on Wednesday.
