Kerwin Du Bois
|
Kerwin began singing in primary school but his talent was only truly realized during his days as a student at Tranquility Secondary School, where he excelled in school competitions and went on to win the Junior Calypso Monarch title in the competition's second year.
His talent has not gone unnoticed by his fellow Soca artistes. He has produced tracks for Bunji Garlin's Black Spaniard album and wrote and performed the 2004 hit "Bubblenut" with Machel Montano. He has also lent his expertise to Trinidad's dynamic foursome, H2O Phlo on a track entitled "J'Ouvert".
To date, he continues to write and perform as a solo artiste and has also collaborated with Soca veteran Denise Belfon and newcomers to the Soca scene, Devon Matthews and Shal Marshall. Du Bois enjoyed a fantastic 2008 with hit single "Gyal Farm" which featured rising star Shal Marshall. In 2009 Kerwin again teamed up with Shal Marshall and released the single "Cyah Hear Yuh".
