Before entering the soca arena, Denise taught gymnastics at the Belmont Junior Secondary School and at the YMCA. Her flexibility on-stage a testimony to this fact. In 1990, Denise started her professional singing career with the band Black Sheep before moving on to Sound Revolution. Her debut solo recording was hit single "Ka Ka Lay Lay".
She has since delighted many a crowd with her hard-core hits such as "Hard Wuk", "The Jammette", "Saucy Baby", "Indian Man" and of course her unique "bicycle wine" dance act. In 2009 Denise was prepared to beat the competition with her song "Licks" and also teamed up with Allison Hinds to feature on a Destra Garcia track "Obsessive Winers".
