Rikki Jai the Prince of Chutney Soca

Rikki Jai made his soca debut in 1988, with a hit single "Sumintra", written by Gregory Ballantyne. "Sumintra" told the tale of an Indo-Trinidadian woman who informed her boyfriend of her preference for Soca over the music of Indian artist Lata Mangeshkar.
In the two decades to follow, he released many hits including Scorpion, Dulahin, Pumping, Bolo, Show Me Yuh Motion and Mor Tor and has won the Chutney Soca Monarch five times. Rikki was also part of the contigency that toured five cities in Germany promoting the Culture of Trinidad and Tobago.
Following up from his successful 2008 season, with tours to New York, Miami, Holland and Suriname, Rikki Jai is set for another exciting year with his new releases Power Soca, Rateeraay, Ah Wining, Six Inch Twelve Inch, Jai Ke Parey, Tribute to Trini Girls, Dhanana Aweh Mor and Moore Garee Sonoo.
