Farmer Nappy hits the Pavement with a Bang for Carnival 2010
|
This is evidence that his first single, which was produced by band mate Shawn "Roots" Mitchell, and features the dynamic vocals of veteran dancehall star General Grant, was just the tip of the iceberg for Farmer's 2010 run. In harmony with his newly reformulated strategy of releasing multiple songs for the season, Farmer has unleashed what is touted to be a sure crowd pleaser. Teaming his experience as a seasoned vocalist with the skills of the multi-talented award winning producer/singer/songwriter Kerwin Du Bois, has resulted in a sweeper of a tune titled "Pavement".
"Pavement" is a pulsating, infectious groove that mixes the vocals of both Farmer and Du Bois into an intoxicating melodious blend. The number offers an encouraging message for sideline masqueraders who share the sentiments of the chorus: "We doh wuh come in yuh band, we chippin' on de pavement. " and is set to become an anthem for all who enjoy the alternative Carnival experience of partying on the sideline.
The track was recorded and mixed by Du Bois, the 2008 and 2009 Soca Producer of the Year with block buster productions like "Tusty" by Blaxx and "Obsessive Winers" by Destra Garcia featuring Allison Hinds and Denise Belfon, at his Toronto based studio KNS.
It was there that the musical pair brought their vision for the "Pavement" jam to life creating what will undoubtedly be the chippers anthem for Carnival 2K10. With two big tunes already in circulation and a promising season ahead, Nappy is preparing to explore the Power Soca category with his next single "I Pay for this" soon to be released.
